Event Description/ Synopsis

Lasalle School of Contemporary Music presents renowned Japanese pianist Yukio Miyazaki for the first time at the lunchtime concert series in the SIA Theatre. Mr Miyazaki will be presenting a concert of Latin American compositions for piano by artists such as Piazzolla (Argentina), Lecuona (Cuba) and Villa Lobos (Brazil).

Biographies of performers

Yukio Miyazaki studied under F.Steuler, V.Perlemuter in Japan as well as Magda Tagliaferro in Paris.

He worked as an assistant for Magda Tagliaferro and is recognized as a most trusted successor of her.

He was awarded a Grand Prix Concour Brasil piano in Paris.

Upon returning to Japan, he began teaching at Musashino University of Music in Tokyo where he also research Latin American Classical music extensively for his own interest.

Nowadays he has been known as a specialist in Latin American Classical Music.

He has been invited to more than 100 different cities as a master-class educator in Japan as well as overseas including Rio de Janeiro, Habana, etc.

Performed in various recitals and concerts with orchestras in Japan , Paris , Rio de Janeiro , Sao Paulo , Port Alegre , Habanna, Cagliari,etc. Recording 14 CDs and his musical arrangement pieces have been featured in several piano scores. 

He is Organizing Nihon Piano Association as President to spread Latin American Classic via all Japan scale Piano Competitions.
