The Steve McQueens is: Eugenia Yip (vocals), Fabian Lim (saxophones), Joshua Wan (keyboards), Jase Sng (bass) and Aaron James Lee (drums). The SteveMcQueens is a NeoVintage Soul band from Singapore whose music is jazz infused neo-soulfunk, a groove-based hybrid of tightly arranged and freely improvised sounds. The Steve McQueens’ sound draws influence from artistes like Theolonius Monk, James Brown, Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse, Brad Mehldau and Robert Glasper; from soulful and sultry to eclectic and eccentric.
The SteveMcQueens play a mixed set of originals from their EP Culmination of the Social Misfit Experiment and their follow up record Einstein Moments. The set will also include reworks of classic soul/funk/R&B music at Lasalle College of the Arts during Lunch Time Concert on the 16th of September 2013 from 1-1.50pm. |
